Description
I am a mother of seven grown up children and a bubbly caring compassionate person. Most of my care/support role has been in the clients home. Ranging from dementia, stroke,
palliative care, learning disabilities and vulnerable adults. I can drive, cook, clean, iron, support with medication and mobility. I also love gardening, needlework, crosswords, painting and decorating and I am very IT literate enabling me to assist with emails, accounts etc.
I have worked in care homes on occasions which helped me gain invaluable hands on experience using hoists, catheters, stoma care, slide sheets etc.
I identified very quickly that every individuals needs are different and personal centred care is a must.
I am able to sign a little and experienced in the use of cochlear implants due to a granddaughter becoming profoundly deaf after having meningitis. I also have an autistic granddaughter who is very delightful and energetic and requires constant supervision whilst in your care.
I can honestly say that as a care/support worker it has been the most rewarding job I have ever had by
making a difference to someone’s health, equality, inclusion and social wellbeing.
